TRANSLATION CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CONNECTORS

You have organized your rich content in a content management system (CMS). Now you want to expand it to include the translations.

Your first idea is to have the content translated in a Word document and then cut, paste and format it into your CMS. Have you considered that if you have multiple languages to manage and/or if your content changes often, this becomes very cumbersome and time consuming, not to mention risky?

In a better case scenario, you export your content into a flexible text format, for example XML. You will have the XML files translated and then you re-import them to your CMS. No cutting, pasting or formatting necessary.

If you find yourself spending much time managing the translated files and doing the manual uploads, you will soon need a connector.

A connector is a piece of code that automates the exchange of content between the content repository (your CMS) and the translation environment. It is typically designed to facilitate the following tasks:

  • It extracts the content in a structured and systematic manner (using generated IDs) while preserving the source formatting.
  • It pushes the content through the translation process.
  • It reintegrates the translated content and makes it ready for publishing.

Contact us to have one of our engineers evaluate your situation and recommend the best translation workflow (with or without the connectors).
